Get Involved - Join An ONA Committee Today!

Want to get involved with ONA? Serve on a committee! Love convention? Or legislative advocacy? We need ONA members to serve on committees to focus on these issues. ONA currently has opportunities available to serve on the Convention Committee, Practice Committee, Governmental Activities Committee or the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Committee.

Each year, ONA looks for members interested in making a difference. Take a look at each of these opportunities:

• Convention Committee – help plan ONA’s 2024 Annual Convention in Tulsa, September 25 - 26. This committee will be involved with selecting the theme, direction, and speakers for the 2024 Convention. This committee meets during the months of March–August on a regular basis (but not every week).

• Education Committee - get involved with ONA professional development and education needs.

• Practice Committee – this committee will work to advance nursing practice in line with the ONA Strategic Plan and will identify related issues or other issues for ONA to address. In addition, the committee will identify trending issues for ONA to consider. This committee will meet every other month.

• Governmental Activities Committee (GAC) – want to get involved and/or better understand the work ONA does at the Capitol? This committee meets weekly on Thursday nights during the months of February and March to discuss legislative issues.

• Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Committee - this committee will work to advance diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging based on the DEIB Position Statement passed by the ONA House of Delegates within the association and the profession.
