Please use the following form to submit abstracts for keynote (90minutes), concurrent session (50minutes), and poster(written) presentations at the 2010 ONA Convention in Tulsa. Once you submit the proposal, a copy will be emailed to the email address provided and to the ONA office for consideration.

Suggestions on Topics: The Convention Committee is soliciting proposals related to improving the health of Oklahoma. Suggested topics include research or clinical intervention for patients related, but not limited to, healthy weight, tobacco cessation, fitness, nutrition, and active lifestyles. Tracks focusing on administrators may choose to address healthy workplace practices, instilling health habits for the workforce, health work environments, and selling health on a tight budget.Proposals are not limited to the above suggestions. Please submit your research and innovative approaches that affect practice, delivery of care, management, and more. The committee encourages submission from all professional and practice settings.
Should you notice a mistake when you receive the verification email, please contact the ONA office by phone (405) 840-3476 or email (admin@oklahomanurses.org) by replying to the email. You may request that simple corrections be made, or you may request that the submission be deleted to begin the submission anew.

Many presentations are authored by more than one person. Some presentations may be entered by a support staff member. Please use the following fields to tell us who the primary contact is for this presentation. The individual listed will be responsible for ensuring that all participants involved with this presentation are notified and that all credentialing information is submitted accordingly. Failure to comply with requirements will results in the presentation being denied or terminated. The contact person may be one of the presenters as well.

Please list the information for the presenters/authors for your submission. Even if the one of the authors/presenters is listed as the Contact, you must include them in this field box using the indicated format. Please enter the information carefully! This is how the names will appear in the program brochure. Double check spelling and credentials before submitting.
Type the NAME, CREDENTIALS then separate entries with a semi-colon " ; ".

In one to two sentences, please describe the subject matter you propose to present. Examples include "Clinical demonstration of Injection for the Student or Returning Nurse" or "Research Review of Obesity in Oklahoma" or "Interactive Session on patient intervention" or "poster presentation describing Mass Casualty Triage" The description should be very concise; imagine what you would want a participant to remark about your presentation. So that I might say "I went to the presentation by Nurses So and So. It was an interactive session that gave me the opportunity to learn about patient intervention and bedside interviewing techniques."
The convention committee reserves the right to place any presentation in the best suited track. If you are not sure of your intended audience, then you may leave this part blank.

Please review your work and check spelling and grammar before submitting. We had two entries (made by doctoral level nurses) last year with inappropriate misspelling and grammatical mistakes. The review committee takes this into account when selecting proposals. If you find that you have made a mistake, you may notify the ONA office, then resubmit your corrected proposal without penalty.
Please enter a brief description of the presentation experience of the author(s) who would be presenting if selected. Narrative or Bulleted format is acceptable. Be certain to indicate if you have presented previously at the ONA Convention by listing the title and year of prior presentations.
Please compose a brief biographical statement and paste it in this text box. If your proposal is selected, this statement will be read to the audience as a means of introducing the speakers before the presentation. It should be as brief as possible, but it should also illustrate your experience, increase you credibility, and establish the presenter(s) as an expert on the subject matter.
