The 2010 Legislative Day for Nurses at the Capitol provides you with the opportunity to get involved and make a difference in issues facing nursing and healthcare in Oklahoma.  It is our intent to provide you with information on the legislative process as well as issues affecting nursing and health care in Oklahoma.

ONA encourages all Nurses and Nursing Students to get involved in the legislative process and to attend the Nurses Day at the Capitol. 

You will have the opportunity to:

• Hear from legislative experts, legislators and ONA’s  Lobbyist.
• Educate legislators concerning the issues vital to the  nursing profession
• Increase your awareness of the roles and values of nursing in the political arena 
• Have your voice heard concerning legislation affecting delivery of care and the nursing profession.
• Join with other nurses who share the same concerns

ONA PAC will again be sponsoring an event—the ONA-PAC Luncheon.  This year’s Luncheon will be held at noon between the orientation session at the Cox Convention Center and the legislative session at Capitol.

Last year we had an overwhelming turnout at County Line Barbecue, so we are doing it again! Don't worry, we have restructured the seating and may limit attendance as the space requires. You'll be sure to have more great food that you'll love and an exciting speaker, too!  What a great way to raise funds for the PAC and network with your colleagues!  

This is a fundraiser, so the cost will be in addition to your registration fees. The contribution for this event is $35.  We encourage you to consider sponsoring a nursing student for this important opportunity.  This would provide an opportunity for the student to attend the Luncheon as well as foster nurse/student mentoring vital to the future growth of the Oklahoma Nurses Association. You may donate funds for a ticket to be raffled at the event, or just register the individual online.
